SJG YOUNG APPRENTICE 2020 TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before entering the competition and print off a copy for your records. By entering the competition, you are confirming your agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY
Applicants (“Participants”) may enter the competition by submitting a nomination by themselves using the available application form provided by S J Global (SJG). Only one entry per participant will be accepted by SJG. The closing date for the competition will be midnight on September 30, 2020. All entries must be received by SJG on the closing date. Entries after this will not be accepted.
Competition is open to residents of the UK only, excluding employees and relatives of S J Global or of its respective parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, or any other person connected with the competition.
All competition applicants will apply at their own cost. By entering the competition, participants grant SJG subject to any relevant provisions of local law:
(a) a right to use, reproduce and exploit any creative entry for any purpose in any media; and
(b) the right to use the participant’s name, likeness, and/or biographical information in any publicity or statement made in connection with the relevant Competition for 10 years.
The prize for the competition winner will be an allocation of £50,000 (“Prize”). The prize will be informed to the winning participants (“Winner”) by letter and email.
SJG reserves the right to substitute the prize should the prize become unavailable for any reason.
CONDITIONS RELATING TO THE AWARD OF THE PRIZE
The prize must be accepted by the winner within two weeks of the winner being notified. The judges’ decision will take place on October 30, 2020, and is final.
The prize is non-transferable and is subject to availability. There is no cash alternative. Winner will usually be notified that they have won a Prize by email and/or post within 28 days of the relevant decision date. If, due to circumstances beyond SJG’s control, SJG is unable to provide the stated prize, SJG reserves the right to award a substitute prize.
PROVISION OF THE PRIZE IS SUBJECT TO THE WINNER:
(a) signing a prize acceptance form; and
(b) accepting all terms and conditions of third parties involved in the prize (to be provided in the prize acceptance form).
By entering the competition, participants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Participants may be required to provide written acknowledgment of these terms before receiving the prize. No responsibility can be accepted by SJGAS for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged, or undelivered. Incomplete, inaudible, and/or illegible entries will be disqualified. SJG is not responsible for any technical errors in communication networks, internet access, or other prevention of entry to the Competition.
SJG is not liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation to the winner or other participant (and/or guests or parent/guardian of any winner or participant) that is caused by any circumstance beyond SJGAS’s reasonable control or by any act or omission of any third party.
Except in the case of death or personal injury caused by its negligence or that of its personnel (for which liability shall be unlimited), SJGAS shall not be liable to any winner or participant (and/or any guest or parent/guardian of any winner or participant) for any loss or damage howsoever caused (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statutory duty or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with the competition.
JUDGING ENTRIES INTO THE COMPETITION
10 Winners will be selected by a panel of SJG judges (“Judges”), in their absolute discretion. In the event that the Judges appointed by SJG deem in their absolute discretion that none of the participants have performed the relevant task to the requisite standard to receive the prize (for placement or any other reasons), SJGAS may withdraw the relevant prize.
SJG’s decision in respect of winner is final and no correspondence will be entered into in respect of any such decision.
SJG has the right to select an alternative winner if:
(a) a winner is ineligible to enter the competition for any reason;
(b) SJG is unable to contact a winner within 48 hours of the decision date for entries if a competition is only available for a specific date or dates;
(c) SJG does not receive confirmation of the winner”s address and/or parental consent within 14 days of any request;
(e) SJG does not receive from the winner”s all documentation required in connection with the competition within the deadline notified by SJGAS; and/or
(f) a winner is unavailable on any specific date or dates notified at the time of entry.
Participants acknowledge that the fulfillment of any competition may be subject to execution by any participant to the competition of an assignment of rights or further documentation in respect of any entry. Each participant warrants to SJG that his/her entries are entirely their own work and do not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any person or existing business.
The winners must complete all formalities with SJG. The winners may be required to take part in reasonable post-competition publicity for SJG and may be filmed, photographed, or otherwise recorded by SJG or other third parties for publicity and the winners consent to the use of their personal data for such purposes.
Entry into the competition assumes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and agreement and to be bound by the decisions of SJG.
SJG is not liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation to the winner or other participants (and/or guests) that is caused by any circumstance beyond its reasonable control or by any act or omission of any third party.
These Terms and Conditions and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and SJGAS and the winners and any participants in the competition irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts with regard to any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions and any non-contractual obligation arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions.
No responsibility can be taken for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted or damaged, misdirected or incomplete, or which cannot be delivered for any technical reason. The Judges must be satisfied that entrants meet the criteria established for the competition. The Judges have the right to disqualify any entries. The Judges’ decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
Finalists will be announced and notified on October 30, 2020.
If SJG is unable to contact a finalist within one week, the SJGAS reserves the right to select another finalist. Entrants agree to participate in judging and associated activities. If judged a finalist, entrants agree to participate in the final SJG Apprentice of the Year
The finalists agree to participate in any publicity relating to this award with no further recompense. This may include but is not exclusive to, interviews/photographs with media.
Participants in the promotion agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. SJG reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any participant found to be abusing or tampering with the operation of the promotion or to be acting in any manner deemed by SJG to be in violation of the terms and conditions or in a manner that could bring the Company into disrepute.
The terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and any dispute shall be governed and by the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts.
